What kind of care will I receive after my surgery?
People, in India, generally exude a sense of warmth and friendliness that goes way above what you may be used to at home. Most of our affiliated hospitals have an area dedicated to international patients, where you will be cared for by an English speaking nursing staff experienced in attending to medical tourism patients like yourself. Doctor visits for follow-up are frequent and patients are permitted adequate time for stay. In case you need a longer stay in the country, we have tie-up with excellent hotels / service apartments who will welcome you for the extended stay on chargeable basis.
What if I require a blood transfusion?
No matter where you have your surgery there is always a risk that you may require a blood transfusion. For minimally invasive procedures the risk is lower, however, the more invasive the procedure the higher the possibility that a transfusion could be necessary. This is especially true for medical tourism procedures such as open heart surgery or joint replacement surgery.
Pre-screened and disease-free blood is easily available with blood banks in India.
Aftercare ?
You will either spend most of your recovery time at the hospital or you will transfer to a hotel or a recovery facility for the remainder of your stay. This only makes sense as a night in the hospital may cost twice as much as stay at a hotel or recovery retreat.
Will I have to pay for hotel costs after surgery?
Hotel/ Service apartment stay will be borne by the patient as per the duration of stay. However Service apartments can also be taken for a longer period ie week/ fortnight/ month as a package.
Will rehabilitation therapy be included in my medical tourism procedure package?
It will be paid by you extra as per use.
What if a complication happens while I am overseas?
In the event of a medical complication, while you are recovering at a hotel, our hospital and physician will arrange for proper action to be taken. Some complications may be very minor and require nothing more than a short visit to the doctor. Other complications may require that you be interned again in the hospital.
